Hey friends,
🏎️ It was a fun week! The most special thing about this week is that I got to see a smokin’ hot red Ferrari SF90 Stradale for the first time ever, 13 years after I first saw a Ferrari 458 Italia in an Overdrive magazine, which made me fall in love with supercars, and particularly a Ferrari. I attended this Ferrari Rally in Mumbai on the previous Sunday, and documented the experience on my Instagram. 16/04/23 will always be close to my heart, the day when I saw and experienced a Ferrari so up-close. 💘
✨ Apart from that, I spent this week researching about product management, consulting and one-person business model. I also spent some time arranging the outfits for myself for our college’s cultural fest, which is from the coming Monday to Wednesday. Spending time with family and friends by involving them into your processes is never a bad idea.
📌 Since the 50th newsletter is round the corner, I want to dedicate this newsletter to write about the way I see the future prospects of this project that I began in August 2021. Writing here has always been one of the creative side-hustles that I absolutely enjoy, and I definitely have a vision for the future.
💌 I started this newsletter on 29th August 2021, and it has crossed 8,900 reads so far, with 48 publications so far, and 200+ weekly readers.
💯 Most of you must be familiar with my other creative projects like creating podcasts for my study-abroad student community (the 4-month-long internship ended recently), podcasts for IEEE Pune Section, and also about micro-blogging on my Twitter account. Although, all of these things began out of sheer curiosity, my will to get a better exposure and to learn more, I have come to point where I feel the need to condense all my work so far at one place.
💓 That place will be my home on the internet, a place where I condense ‘who I am’: my personal website. That’s the project that I’ve been working on since the last week (which got delayed by around 1.5 months) and I can’t wait to make the website public in the next week when the 50th newsletter comes out.
✍🏻 While I was brainstorming about how do I bring all my work so far at once place, and give everything a new beginning, two thoughts came to my mind:
(a) expanding my content into different formats further, and
(b) starting a community around it, all of this under a brand name. I finalized the name, designed a logo and built the website around it. I can’t wait to reveal everything in the coming week.
🎯 With the vision for the future, I plan on expanding my work to different formats like long-form blogs, YouTube videos, audio and video podcasts, tweets, newsletters, LinkedIn posts and articles; while integrating all of this on a single platform: my website.
🔗 I wish to bring the like-minded people together through the community that I’ll build through all the learnings that I document, which eventually would serve as one of the divisions under the umbrella of the brand that I am trying to establish through all this.
🌻 Now, what do I mean by establishing a brand? I don’t necessarily mean to turn it into a business, but I want to disassociate my name from the work that I do, while bringing all the things under the same roof. Let me explain it clearly. For example, instead of saying ‘Sohan’s Newsletter’, ‘Sohan’s Journal’, ‘Sohan’s Podcast’ and so on, I just want one brand named ‘XYZ’, under which I can document all my work, and then label it as ‘by Sohan Joshi’.
⚠️ Also, creating a personal website would help me to:
📝 Document my work, systems, thoughts, reflections, learnings, experiences and what not!
💬 Write long-form blogs to expand on my tweets.
🪴 Share all my creative work at one place.
💌 Help me to network and grow professionally by increasing my visibility for the university evaluators, my future podcast guests, recruiters, investors, and to someone who just wants to skim through my work xD
📧 In the 50th newsletter (that comes out in the next week), I want to re-write my ‘why’ of doing all the things that I am into, along with the making my personal website public. I wrote something similar in my very first newsletter (which started out so randomly), but little did I know that I’ll be doing all this fifty weeks down the line.
🌻 Life’s amazing and I couldn't be happier. Hoping to see you in the next week reading the 50th newsletter. I’m excited for the upcoming three days <3
💌 Take care and I’ll see you around. Peace.
Signing off,
Sohan
